Poulan P4018 18-Inch 40cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Easy Start Chain Saw with Case (Lawn & Patio) I bought this saw for general use around my yard. For the money, its a great saw. I used it all day yesterday and it ran great. The only flaw I found was a cheap pull-cord setup that you need to be careful with. The pullcord housing and fly-wheel is all made of plastic...so I can tell Ill have to replace that at some point. Other than that, the saw runs great, and does a great job. FYI the saw does NOT come ready to go. Make sure you tighten the bar support bolts and add all the fluids. Great saw just to have at the house for occasional use.

I have had this saw for a pretty good while now and have put a lot of use on it. The chain has a tendency to loosen up as other reviews have stated but I have not had as bad of experience as some. It is easy to re-tighten and if you really put some force into it, seems to stay tight longer. The saw did give me some issues about 6 months ago not wanting to run at full speed. When you hit the gas it would just choke out. Did some investigating and turned out the screen between the head and the muffler was clogged. Make sure you check this out if you are having issues. There is a nut on the outside that must come off then two t30 torx head screws are inside. I have had to adjust the carb screws a few times to get it running better and my muffler has come loose here lately a few times. But for the money, this has been a good saw. I am sure there are much better out there but I have cleared and cut up probably close to 75 trees with this one so far and it is still running strong.

           I have had my poulan pro for a couple of years now, I cut about 4 to 5 cords a winter. I did have some starting troubles, but that was due to a bad plug. I love this saw, it cuts just fine. I am thinking about getting a bigger husky, some of the trees that I am cutting down I have to cut from both sides now. I am definitely going to keep this saw for a backup and around the house. I would recommend this saw to anyone, especially for the $.

Poulan Pro PP3516AVX 16-Inch 35cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Anti-Vibration Chain Saw

I purchased the poulan pro 3516avx from http://poulanchainsawsbest.blogspot.com/. After it arrived I followed the instructions and tried to start it up. On the first pull the cord did not recoil! I called the "HELP" number on the saw and the told me to take it in for warranty service, although IT HAD NEVER BEEN STARTED! I called the support number directly at Poulan same answer NO SUPPORT! I called Amazon and they cheerfully shipped me a new saw IMMEDIATLY,(arrived in 3 days) and apoligized for the incovenience. Thank-you that was much better. New saw performs very well, No further problems, no thanks to Poulan.

I originally bought the Poulan Pro 400E 18-Inch 4 Horsepower Electric Chain Saw but after reading the reviews here I took it back without even taking it out of the case and bought this one instead. I am very glad I did. I only need a chainsaw for around the house to cut fallen trees or the odd job. So the idea of keeping a can of mixed gas and oil didn't appeal to me. Not to mention the saw would sit on the shelf for months at a time between uses and I didn't care for the starting problems or engine repairs of a gas chainsaw. However I was worried that this electric chainsaw would not be powerful enough. I had 2 fallen trees with a bases of about 15 inches that I needed to cut into firewood immediately. This chainsaw performed perfectly. I realize that it was new so the chain was nice and sharp but it still had no problem cutting through everything quickly. I loved being able to start it and stop it at will without the hassle of priming a gas engine or overheating problems or running out of gas or messing with the choke. I stopped whenever I felt like it and came in the house for a drink of water. Went right back out and with just a squeeze of the trigger was back to cutting again. I have a perfectly cut half cord of firewood in just a few hours. Amazon delivered the saw to my doorstep in 7 days with the free shipping. The saw did not come with a case or chain oil so I had to make a quick run to the store for some oil. I was happy to see that the saw used almost a quart of chain oil for the 2 trees. This told me that chain stayed nice and wet. Afterwards I spent about 10 minutes cleaning the saw back up like new and put it back on my shelf for the next time. It only took removing the two lugs and the chain and bar came right off for cleanup. Nice job Poulan.
